LLMs4EU

Large Language Models for the European Union
LightOn is proud to be a key partner in LLMs4EU, a European project dedicated to preserving linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe in the digital age by making large language models accessible in all EU languages.

About LLMs4EU

The LLMs4EU project addresses the risk of European languages being marginalised in generative AI due to a lack of training resources. By bringing together Europe's leading AI experts from industry and academia, the project aims to preserve linguistic and cultural diversity, while enabling European SMEs to compete globally.
‍
The initiative provides LLMs and associated tools as open data for all EU languages, leveraging existing European programmes and expertise to develop extensive multilingual resources that promote the continent's digital sovereignty and economic competitiveness.
