Registration Data: When creating an account, you have to provide the following information: your name, e-mail address, as well as any additional information you choose to provide (such as your address or phone number). You will also have to create a password, which will be stored with the service provider LightOn uses to ensure secure storage and authentication of your password each time you want to use Muse API.
LightOn uses the information from or about you for the following purposes: to create and maintain your account, to deliver to you the services you request, to provide to you quality customer service, to communicate with you and send you relevant information, to improve your experience of the API and LightOn’s products and services in general.
Data Submitted through the API (API Customers & End Users): We store and process any data you chose to submit through the API in order to provide you with our API services. We may also use that data to ensure quality, secure and improve the API (and any related software, models, and algorithms), and to detect and prevent misuse. All the data you submit to LightOn through the API, aside from generating output for you, is used to provide you high quality and secure API services, as well as to prevent abusive use of any kind. Examples of how the information you submit through the API can be used:
- Analysis to detect and reduce abusive use of the API (such as bias or offensive content); Analysis of anonymized – inputs and outputs to improve API-related products and services; Training and improving our models to improve the quality of the outputs;
- Solve and avoid technical issues.
Your data will not be used by LightOn for training custom models for other customers. The information you give to LightOn can only be viewed by a small number of LightOn’s employees and its affiliates specialized in providing API services and support, as well as in monitoring the abusive use of the API.
The information you provide to LightOn is only stored as long as it is necessary for providing you with API services and monitoring the abusive use.
Tracking, Usage & Cookies Data (API Customers & End Users):
LightOn uses tracking technologies, such as cookies, to collect certain information about your use of the API, such as access time, country, IP address, etc. You can decide which cookies you accept and which ones you don’t. Consequently, when using the Muse API website or the API, you implicitly agree to all cookies you do not disable. Note that declining certain cookies may affect your use of a website. Also, note that none of the above changes is in response to “Do not track” web browser signals. How we share your information
LightOn does not share your information with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes. We may however share your information with a third party in the following cases:
- If they are LightOn’s Service Providers, such as designers, technology assistants, etc.
- If they are LightOn’s Acquirers or Assignees in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of LightOn or its assets
- If they are Entities Entitled Under Law in cases such as: complying with legal process, responding to requests from public authorities, protecting the interests of LightOn or others, etc. You will only be notified of such disclosures when required by applicable law.
How LightOn protects your information
LightOn takes all necessary and commercially reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, distortion or destruction. However note that since no security system is 100% safe, you implicitly assume a risk when transmitting any personal information. LightOn cannot give a full guarantee neither for the security of our databases nor for the information transmissions made to and from LightOn over the Internet, and you should choose carefully, in particular, the information sent to LightOn via email. LightOn cannot be held accountable for the damages, losses or causes of action related to the disclosure of your personally identifiable information.
How to access and correct your information
You can access and correct some of your personal information directly via your user profile. For the rest, you can make a request by e-mail to access, correct, or delete information that you have provided to LightOn. LightOn may refuse your request to change information if LightOn has reasons to believe that the new information is incorrect or that the change of information you request is against a law, regulation, legal requirement, or applicable policy.
International Transfers of Information
By using the Site and/or API, you are deemed to understand and unambiguously consent to the collection and processing of Your Information in the European Union, and in the United States with the awareness that the laws of those jurisdictions may provide different levels of protection for personal information than the laws of the jurisdiction where you are located.
