What is LightOn Cloud?

The LightOn Cloud platform allows you to discover LightOn’s photonic computing technology through a dedicated Data Centre infrastructure, hosted in Paris.
Do you work with a feature size over 10k? Do you need to compress/sketch very large data or expand your data to very high dimensions? Then LightOn’s technology could be a good fit for you!

Just like any other cloud service … with a twist 😉

All LightOn Cloud users have access to our proprietary Optical Processing Units alongside powerful hardware and support for the most popular packages for ML and Data Science, such as Pytorch and scikit-learn. Oh, and Jupyter notebook server support as well!

Start working right away with easy to follow examples

Through LightOn Cloud you can access a set of sample Jupyter notebooks for typical use cases
  • Anomaly detection
  • Image/video classification
  • Reinforcement Learning
  • NLP
  • Graph analysis
  • Molecular Dynamics
  • NN training
You can modify these open source examples and of course, we can help you identify if LightOn OPUs can accelerate your ML task. We would love to hear about your project – please let us know on the LightOn community website.

See how easy it is!

Let us walk you through the first steps on the LightOn Cloud and with the LightOn Aurora OPUs. Access the platform, book a time slot and build a classifier from scratch.

Process and Pricing

  • In order to get acquainted with our Optical Processing Unit technology, you may request a Free Trial account. Without any cost, you will be able to run all the existing examples and/or benchmark the technology on your own.
  • On the other hand, if you want to want to do an actual research project you may request a free LightOn Cloud for Research (LOC4R) account. With more credits at your disposal, you will be able to run your own tests and perform your own small projects. You may find more details about the LOC4R program on the dedicated LOC4R page.
  • If you need even more credits or dedicated access to an OPU then you may select the “Dedicated” package through which you have unlimited LOC access for 1 week.
  • For completely unrestricted access you can lease an Appliance and host it on your own premises! See more details about the available arrangements here.
